After the Truth

 

“Mom, if I had something to tell you, would you be a Mom or would you be a friend.”  Those are the words that are forever etched in my mind the night my daughter finally disclosed what her stepfather had been doing.

I am a mother and my daughter, my baby, my precious, daughter, my only daughter whom I love like life itself was sexually violated used and, abused, mistreated, and had her innocence stolen from her while she was still a very little girl in about the third grade. 

What this book is not.  This is not Nikki’s story, this is my story.  This is a Mother’s viewpoint.  This is not an expose of the abuse my daughter suffered.  I am not attempting to tell her story.  This is MY story, with my daughter’s complete and explicit support.   

I am putting voice to the heartache, pain, anguish, shame, hurt, anger, sheer rage, utter disgust of myself, and absolute disbelief that I as a mother went through.
